Crossbell Archives: Ao no Kiseki Scenario (Chapter 1)

Note: Taken from the Crossbell Archives. So, looks like I ended up doing more translations for this XD Playing through Ao no Kiseki Evolution right now reminds me of my love for this game~ Anyway, these plot summaries are long starting from Chapter 1 so I'll be translating it bit by bit.

>> Restart of Special Support Section Activities

Lloyd and Elie lectured the two new SSS members on essential things they need to know when carrying out requests, including how to operate the SSS terminal and use of the Police Notebook. As they confirm their requests for the day, Sergei called out to them, "Looks like you guys are already starting." Stopping Noel who was about to give her salutations, Sergei instructed the four to head to the Crossbell Police Academy once they've taken care of the requests and left. Toward Noel who was perplexed by such an ambiguous instruction, Elie followed up saying "That's the Special Support Section's usual style." Wazy laughed while he called out to the others, "Let's go take care of the requests then." Lloyd suggested that they tell KeA before heading out into the city.

Lloyd and the others entered KeA's room, reminding her that it was time to head to sunday school. KeA returned with a smile and ended her study session [1], saying that it was almost time for the meetup, and headed out together with the others. The back road was undergoing construction work, so they headed out the front door instead. The moment they arrived at the Central Square, they met with Henry and Ryuu who came to pick KeA up. KeA apologized for being late and left with the two toward the West Street. Seeing the lively kids off, Lloyd and the others started their patrol around the city as they made their way toward the Crossbell State Police Department, where a request awaited them.

As they made their way towards the Police Department in the Governmental District, Lloyd and the others greeted familiar faces, telling them that the SSS had resumed activities. Upon entering the Police Department, they greeted receptionists Fran and Rebecca at the counter before heading inside the conference room. Investigator Emma, who also took care of Lloyd during his training at the First Investigations Unit, was already waiting inside. According to her, someone supposedly reported to be Lechter was spotted within the city. Her request was for them to confirm the identity of said person [2]. Additionally, if confirmed to be Lechter, they were to further investigate his background and find out the truth behind his titles as both "Erebonia Empire's 2nd Class Secretary" and "Intelligence Agency Special Lieutenant" as reported in the First Investigations Unit's file.

Lloyd and the others immediately headed for the Back Street where there was the eyewitness report, and coincidentally bumped into Grace, who was investigating the Heiyue group's movement. Grace was exposed to be tailing Cao's movements for her news coverage. From Grace, Lloyd and the others recieved information that she sighted Lechter inside the Old Dragon Inn located on the East Street. And so the group hurried for their next destination and when they found Lechter there, he greeted them with "I've been waiting, friends of my heart!" But then, Lechter told the Old Dragon Inn cook Chanhoi to "Work those people hard!" and left the inn while Lloyd and others were forcefully entangled with the cook. When they finally resolved the misunderstanding with the cook, Lechter was nowhere to be seen, forcing Lloyd and the others to run around in the city looking for him.

At last, the group caught up to Lechter inside the casino and successfully got information out of him regarding his titles and staying period. Just as they were about to ask him about his reason for coming to Crossbell, a red-headed girl named Shirley Orlando [3] appeared before them. Toward Lloyd who couldn't grasp the identity of this girl, Shirley suddenly said "What a nostalgic smell" and lightly bit his earlobes. Elie, who was taken aback by Shirley's action, showed an opening and also became victim to extreme sexual harassment. Everyone became dumbfounded by the turn of events and only regained themselves after Lechter and Shirley had already left. They comforted a flustered Elie who was on the ground, calling it a disaster.

Ending the mentally exhausting request of investigating Lechter, Lloyd received a call on his ENIGMA as they walked out of the Police Department. As Lloyd expected, it was a call from Sergei. "I'm waiting at the Police Academy so hurry on over," instructed Sergei. After giving Sergei a brief report on the situation, Lloyd relayed the instruction to the other members of the SSS.  They decided to head to the Crossbell Police Academy [4] from the West Street.

Even though it was possible to reach the Crossbell Police Academy from the west exit by taking the orbal bus, the group decided to take up Noel's suggestion of walking on foot this time around. This way, they would be able to take care of the Wanted Monster request on their way through West Crossbell Highway. Halfway, Lloyd's eyes fell on a red-headed big man Sigmund Orlando [5], who was overlooking the tracks of the transcontinental railway. Lloyd casually greeted him, thinking that the man was a fellow traveler of the highway. However, in reply, the man oppressively ordered Lloyd to "Take a look at the train coming from Erebonia." Though feeling perplexed, Lloyd followed the man's demand.  Sigmund asked Lloyd the number of passengers aboard the train, to which Lloyd answered correctly.  He complimented Lloyd on his ability to see the whole picture of a situation. "That's what will keep you alive on the battlefield," Sigmund left those words before casually leaving in the direction of Crossbell City.

Finally released from the tension they were under, the group started to talk about Sigmund. As they talked, Wazy discovered the remnants of the Wanted Monster that was torn into pieces. Lloyd and Wazy carefully inspected the corpse and guessed that it was the works of Sigmund.  Even after reaching the gates of the Police Academy, the group couldn't shake the man they had just met from their minds.  Elie suggested that they split into two teams, but Lloyd said that it was still too early for separate operations taking into account their member count. Just to be safe, the group contacted the First Investigations Unit and urged them to be on alert. Feeling a bit refreshed, the group passed through the gates of the Police Academy.

>> An Unexpected Present

Passing through the expansive Knox Woodland Road [6], Lloyd and the others arrived at the Police Academy building. Upon stepping through the main entrance, they were greeted by Sergei and Manager Juan. After they exchanged simple greetings, Sergei immediately headed for the meeting room, not wanting to waste any time. Having not yet received any further explanation, the group remain confused as to the reason they were called out here. Sergei revealed that the SSS was going to be supplied a car and therefore a short course on basic traffic law would be necessary.

Sergei wrote down notes on the whiteboard he had prepared, educating Lloyd and the others on the fundamentals of traffic law. As the words imply, the content consisted only of basic knowledge. Only some basic traffic laws were in place in Crossbell, and reinforcing the law became a homework for the future, including toughening the law against foreigners. After the class ended, Sergei designated Noel as the driver since she had ample experience in driving from her time in the Guardian Force. "Time to get you guys the car, follow me," Sergei said before he left the room. Lloyd and the others followed him out to the garage.

Unable to contain their excitement, the group headed outside to see the car supplied to them parked beside Sergei. Noel gave her impression of the car after seeing its design, to which Sergei responded that it's the latest model developed by ZCF of the Liberl Kingdom, the XD-78 [7]. It appeared that Mayor Dieter had a hand in allocating the car to the SSS. Lloyd handed the keys he just got over to Noel, wanting to go for a test drive back to Crossbell City.  Taking advantage of the opportunity, Sergei also hitched a ride back to the city together with the others.

The latest model orbal car not only had acceleration power far surpassing expectation, its stability was also top-notch.  The car's comfort made Lloyd and the others realize ZCF's superior technological strength. As the car sped away in a relaxing atmosphere, Randy watched from afar atop the cliff beside the training grounds. Clad in Guardian Force uniform, Randy saw off his comrades. Mireille, who had just climbed up the rope and onto the cliff, could be seen with him.

An amazed Mireille called out to Randy, who appeared to retain his composure despite going through a gruel survival training course [8] that even active Guardian Force members groan about. Randy responded in a casual and joking manner, saying that the orbal car from a few moments ago was made by the ZCF. Additionally, that car was given to the Special Support Section. Being able to gather that much information from just a few seconds glance at the car from afar, Mireille witnessed Randy's outstanding ability. "How about coming back to the Guardian Force?" Mireille invited [9]. However, Randy politely declined, reasoning that he didn't have the necessary rifle shooting skills for actual combat. Not accepting that as a reason, Mireille wanted to continue but Randy softly patted her head as he said, "If you're ever in trouble, I'll come rushing to your side." To conceal her embarrassment, Mireille was forced to end the conversation.

On the other hand, inside the orbal car headed for Crossbell City, the group reported to Sergei about their encounter with Sigmund at West Crossbell Highway. Taking into account the recent movements of Heiyue and the Erebonia Empire, they once again realized that in the city which had finally calmed down after the destruction of Revache & Co., there was a new stirring below the surface. Looking ahead to the West Zemuria Trade Conference scheduled for the end of the month, Lloyd believed it would be necessary to investigate Sigmund's background.

Parking the car nearby the SSS building's back exit, Sergei gazed at the newly completed garage [10] in satisfaction. As Lloyd and the others looked at the parking space, Ryuu and Henry closed in on the orbal car, full of curiosity. They asked the two kids about KeA's whereabouts, to which they responded that she was still at sunday school.  Lloyd and Elie looked full of worry, and so Sergei urged them "Go pick up her at the Crossbell Cathedral." The group departed in their car as Zeit watched from the rooftop. And then for some reason, Zeit growled at Ries who happened to be passing nearby. [11]

Passing through Central Square and the Entertainment District on their way out of the city, Lloyd and the others finally reached Mainz Mountain Path. They got off from their car and as they were heading toward the cathedral, Ries came up to them carrying a huge luggage to ask for directions. Seeing Ries, Elie was surprised at such a sudden reunion and raised her voice. According to Elie, she was under Ries' care while studying abroad in the Holy Nation of Alteria [12]. After introducing herself to Lloyd and the others, Ries explained that she had been newly appointed to the Crossbell Cathedral. Elie was confused by her words, but nodded when Ries quietly asked her to keep the Dominion thing a secret. Saying goodbye to Ries who was in a hurry, the group also arrived at the cathedral.  They immediately asked for directions to where the sunday school was held.

In front of the class set up in a corner of the cathedral, Lloyd and the others watched quietly the class in session.  They could see Sister Marble teaching the senior group, and KeA correctly solving a senior level math equation on the blackboard. The group was surprised by the sight, and so after class, Sister Marble explained to them that KeA's also attending the senior group class. While Lloyd praised KeA for her intellectual curiosity, he also told her, "Knowledge is not the only thing you can learn at Sunday school."

The group left the cathedral and brought KeA to see their new orbal car. Putting a super excited KeA into the car, they drove back to the SSS building. After they returned to the SSS building, they were able to once again see Tio through a video call made possible by a long-distance connection experiment. [13] Apparently, Tio's return would be delayed, but just from seeing her healthy and well, even KeA was full of smiles. They each reported on their current status and vowed that they would meet again at the SSS. After spending a nice time together, the video call ended for the time being.

>> Wazy and Wald

Lloyd woke up in the morning to the sound of the rain, and found KeA inside his bed covers when he felt a warmth beside him. Looking at her peaceful sleeping face, Lloyd became more determined to protect the public order of Crossbell City, if only so that she would be able to live here peacefully. And then once again, he fell into slumber.

A few days after resuming work, the SSS held a meeting with Sergei in attendance. The topic brought up was none other than the man they encountered a few days ago at the West Crossbell Highway, Sigmund. However, Sergei told them that even the First Investigations Unit wasn't able to confirm the man's identity or whereabouts.  No new and concrete information could be added to his profile. Each of them thought back to the abnormal aura Sigmund had, and Wazy suggested that they pay a visit to the exchange shop Neinvalli in the Downtown area. The owner there, Ashley, could possibly provide them with various information.  After confirming their requests for the day at the terminal, the group decided to pay the owner a visit, taking care of the requests on their way.

Entering the suspicious looking exchange shop, the group asked the former weapons dealer, Ashley, about Sigmund's information. After describing his features in detail, the owner fell silent and into deep thought. When Lloyd asked her again, Ashley refused to cooperate, saying "Though I do have an idea, I can't tell you much as long as we have relations in business." [14] Lloyd didn't want to give up, to which Ashley said, "--So you're Guy's little brother. I like the look in your eyes." And so, out of respect for Guy, Ashley divulged some precious information to them, "Even though he's a dangerous man, he's not a terrorist." Lloyd and the others gave her their thanks before leaving the shop. From the information they just received, the group gathered that there's a high possibility Sigmund's a Jaeger.

Leaving the shop, the group headed for the Downtown area exit when they were stopped by a voice, "Hey, stop right there!". It came from Wald, who clearly sounded like he wanted to pick a fight.  He was furious at Wazy for leaving Testaments and joining the SSS without properly settling things with him. Lloyd tried to enter as a mediator, only to be roared at by Wald, "Outsiders shut up!" as he directed all of his anger at his past rival Wazy. However, Wazy said "Whether it's the Testaments or the Saber Vipers, even you are aware that those are not places one can stay for long." and "You should also be able to find your own path," encouraging Wald that it was time for him to leave his nest too. But Wald didn't want to listen and their heated conversation ended up in a one-on-one fight.

As Lloyd and the others watched attentively, a sudden mysterious light surrounded Wazy's body [15]. Disregarding the surprised look on everyone's face, Wazy declared "I'm going for real this time," and then with overwhelming speed and power easily knocked down Wald.  Kneeling on the ground with one feet, Wald asked him, "Were you holding back all this time?" Wazy answered "The skill just now was sort of foul play, but in order to show my sincerity I didn't hold back." and left without looking back. Lloyd and the others followed after him. Not being able to contain his anger at the fact that Wazy was going easy on him all this time, Wald cried out, "I won't accept this!"

Wazy was full of mixed feelings so Lloyd and the others cheered him up, saying "I'm sure your sincerity reached him." Then, in order to take care of the remaining requests, the group decided to go around the city once. But at that moment, Lloyd received a call from Fran. After hanging up, Lloyd relayed to the others that an investigation request came in from village chief Bickson of Mainz Mining Village. On the way back to the SSS building to get their car, the group stopped by the City Library. There, chief librarian Miles introduced them to reporter Marcel Nielsen [16], and under his request, the group assisted him in an interview about the Cult incident. [17]

>> Suspicious Shadow lurking in the Pitch Black World

The rain stopped just like Fran told them beforehand, and the scenery at Mainz Mountain Path was clear and beautiful. When they stopped to rest at the bus stop midway, Lloyd remembered the Rosenberg Studio. Lloyd thought that they should take this opportunity to take a look at the Studio, and so they decided to make a stopover before heading to Mainz Mining Village.

Meanwhile, in front of Rosenberg Studio, old man Jorg and Dr. F. Novartis [18] were in a quarrel while Campanella [19] watched them with a smile on his face. Jorg refused to let the two inside the Studio, to which Dr. Novartis demanded that he hand over the Gordius series data. Furthermore, while Novartis complimented Jorg on his skills with doll-making, he remembered how the Patel=Mattel was handled and commented, "All that talent gone to waste." Seeing how Novartis only thought of the young Renne as a research subject, Jorg muttered with anger, "What a devil..."

Seeing Lloyd and the others appear, Jorg and Novartis halted their argument. Jorg rudely sent Campanella and Novartis away, saying that they should leave if they have no more business. Lloyd and the others apologized to a displeased Jorg for intruding when he had guests, and though nervous, gave him their greetings. However, it appeared that the two people who left were unwanted guests, and before going inside his studio, Jorg told the group, "If you guys have business with me, come again some other time." Left outside the gates, Lloyd and the others had no choice but to come another day.

Arriving at the Mainz Mining Village, Lloyd and the others immediately made a visit to the village chief Bickson's house. After receiving a warm welcome from Bickson and his wife, and miner Gantz, the group confirmed the investigation request with the chief. According to Bickson, it seemed that someone had destroyed the gates to an old mine sealed years ago, and that a mysterious light phenomenon was happening inside the mines. [20] After understanding the details, Lloyd believed that someone purposely destroyed the gates. Bickson asked Gantz to open the door to the old mine beforehand, and Lloyd and others also headed to the scene to begin their investigation.

The group arrived at the old mine and began to investigate the destroyed entrance and its surroundings. Judging from the actual situation, Lloyd and the others even considered requesting assistance from the Guardian Force, but decided on first investigating the inner parts themselves. Leaving Gantz at the entrance in case of danger, they stepped inside into a place emitting mysterious light. Advancing through the tunnel full of murky air, Noel suddenly sensed danger and warned everyone to get away. What immediately followed was a huge explosion noise from behind as the ceiling and walls near the entrance collapsed. [21]

Although Lloyd and the others were able to escape the worst case scenario of getting involved in the collapse, they still ended up trapped inside since the entrance became completely blocked. Noel was able to sense danger because she had grown accustomed to the smell of explosives while she was in the Guardian Force.  They had thought of the possibility that the explosives were remnants from the mining days, but judging from the situation, they came to the conclusion that most likely it was a trap to cut off their retreat. Though they tried to make contact with the outside through their ENIGMA, there was no reception due to being inside an enclosed space. Everyone's mood began to make a downturn, and so Lloyd suggested that they head further in and try to find another way out of the mines. The group began their exploration of the inner parts of the old mine, searching not only for another exit, but also a clue as to the criminal's intent behind setting the explosive trap.

Regarding the light phenomenon inside the old mines, the group confirmed, thanks to Wazy, that the mushrooms and moss were the cause. However, judging by the degree they were reproducing, the group concluded that it was not something that could be manipulated by man and that it had nothing to do with the person who laid the trap. They continued their exploration while on alert, and soon they reached the deepest part of the mines. Unable to find any other exit, they decided to head back to the entrance and wait for Gantz and the others' rescue.

Just as they were about to head back, Wazy suddenly warned them of the danger above. In the next instant, an enormous monster [22] descended in front of them. The group avoided being stepped on by a hairsbreadth, and although they immediately resumed battle formation, a shock wave released by the monster rendered them unable to move. Just as the monster was about to follow up with an attack and Lloyd was close to giving up, Zeit's howl echoed throughout the mines. Furthermore, Randy came rushing in with perfect timing and delivered a heavy blow to the monster's head. Saved from a predicament by strong helpers, the group engaged in combat with the incoming enemy before they even had time to rejoice about the reunion.

Gaining control of the situation after an intense battle, Lloyd and the others watched as the monster gave out a huge cry and gradually disappeared with a mysterious light. Though they had lots of questions regarding the strange phenomenon they had just witnessed, the members of SSS couldn't help but be happy about their reunion with Randy. [23] They told the miners who came running afterwards that they were fine, and also expressed their thanks for a speedy rescue. The reunited SSS members decided to return to the mining village to report back to chief Bickson.

>> The Ominous Existence Closing in on Crossbell

The culprit [24] behind the destruction of the entrance gate and the trap laid inside the tunnel remained a mystery, and there was no clear explanation for the strange phenomenon happening inside the mines. Despite that, Lloyd and the others gave Bickson a general report of the situation and their investigation results after returning to Mainz mining village. Afterwards, the group checked the surroundings of the old mine entrance once more and confirmed that there was no suspicious person lurking around. Lloyd and the others sent out a request to the Guardian Force to include Mainz in their patrols, and then decided to head back to Crossbell City.

Inside the orbal car speeding along the Mainz Mountain Path, everyone discussed about the culprit who laid the trap. After listening to the others' deduction, Randy provided supplementary information about the gunpowder smell lingering around the entrance and the type of explosives used. In detail, he explained that those were "the smell of high explosives mixed around 1-2 years ago." He added, "Heavy gunpowder weaponry are still in use, especially favored by the Jaegers." After hearing that from Randy, Lloyd explained to him about their encounter with Lechter.  On top of that, Lloyd also told him about the red-haired girl Shirley they met at the casino and the red-haired man Sigmund they met at West Crossbell Highway. Randy quietly muttered, "...Geez, --so that's how they're going to play."

Just as Lloyd was about to call out to Randy who clearly had a strange expression on his face, the ENIGMA rang. It was a call from First Investigations Unit's Dudley, informing them that "Crimson & Co." [25] just became the new owner of the former Revache & Co. site. Furthermore, he continued, "You can ask Randy about Crimson & Co." before he ended the call.  Lloyd immediately turned to Randy, who explained that "it's a company that runs high-end clubs within the Empire, but in actuality, serves as a dummy company for the Red Constellation." [26]

The orbal car sped towards Crossbell City, and as if to urge them along, it started to rain on the Mainz Mountain Path. Two shadows stood on a suspended bridge somewhere along the path, looking at the orbal car that left. Those were the shadows of the two people Lloyd and the others met at Rosenberg Studio, Novartis and Campanella. Novartis scornfully smiled and said, "I'm dropping by Mainz mines before heading back." [27] In response, Campanella said that he would begin his mission.

Novartis remembered his own mission and said, "It appears Seventh Pillar [28] and I will be given charge here," hinting at the existence of a second Angis. Hearing that name, Campanella responded, "Looks like there will be lots of troublesome people taking action, so that's just perfect." With that, Novartis entrusted Campanella with the completion of the Astral Code's operations report [29], and then disappeared within a geometric-shaped teleportation circle after exchanging the parting words, "For the Master."

Left all alone, Campanella gave a grand and elegant pose as if he was in front of an audience. And then, with a high voice, he declared, "Enforcer No.0, [The Fool] Campanella. From here on, in place of the Master, shall begin overseeing the [Phantom Flame Project]." [30]

It started to rain harder and few people could be seen walking about in the Entertainment District. The car that just came from the Residential Street was made to stop, and Randy jumped out from the car into the pouring rain, running in the direction of the Back Street. His unusual behavior had everyone worried, and all of them ran after him at full-speed so as not to lose sight of him. Lloyd and the others passed through the Back Street and stopped in front of the familiar alleyway. That was the former Revache & Co. site bought by Crimson & Co. according to Dudley's intel. It was there that Lloyd and the others found Randy, who had finally stopped his footsteps.

Not yet catching their breaths, what Lloyd and the others saw was Randy facing off against Sigmund and Shirley. The fact that Lechter was also there made them suspicious, and they remembered the information they received from Dudley. Seeking confirmation, they directly asked Lechter himself. To their surprise, Lechter quickly admitted his involvement in the purchasing of the site. Apparently, just as Heiyue's Cao was planning on purchasing the site, Lechter engaged in dodgy dealings and was one step ahead. Cutting off their conversation, Shirley very happily said, "Even though we had to retreat that time at the Orients Street, looks like we'll be able to fully enjoy ourselves this time!" Hearing that, Randy asked Sigmund, "Just what in the world are you guys planning to do in Crossbell City?" However, Sigmund only gave a scornful smile with no intention of answering. Not only that, he looked at Randy with a serious expression and simply told him all that he needed to know, "Brother passed away." [31]

The sudden news of his father, Balder Orlando's, death left Randy speechless. According to Sigmund, Randy's father died around half a year ago in a duel together with the "Jaeger King" [32], the leader of their long-time rival, the West Wind Brigade. [33] After Sigmund told him the general situation, Randy regained himself and asked with a pained smile, "He probably didn't have any regrets right?" Sigmund and Shirley agreed for the most part, but threw out the words, "Well, except for his incompetent son." With that, Sigmund left and headed inside the building along with Shirley and Lechter, but not before telling Randy, "We'll have a talk soon."

From their conversation, the group realized Randy's relationship with the two people who left. Though they were hesitant, they called out to Randy. Randy revealed to the group that they're Red Constellation's second-in-command Sigmund and team leader Shirley. "They're my uncle and cousin...the strongest and cruelest battle fanatics," Randy continued as he revealed a part of his past that he had kept hidden until now.

== SUPPLEMENTAL NOTES == (major spoilers; please read after you're finished with the game)

1) KeA's Study Session: KeA, who is reviewing her homework for Sunday school inside her room, is smart to the point that she is able to take classes with the older kids. Lloyd and the others are not aware of this fact at this point in time, however Wazy surprisingly realized this upon seeing KeA's study material.

2) Request to Investigate Lechter: The group reunites with Cao, who has come to check up on the old Revache site. In fact, Lechter also paid a visit to the Back Alley as the representative for Crimson & Co.. Turns out that that is one of Lechter's reasons for coming to Crossbell. In the end, Lechter purchased the land before Cao could.

3) Shirley Orlando: Sigmund's only daughter and team leader of Red Constellation. A battle fanatic who easily wields a large rifle equipped with a chainsaw and is feared by others as the "Bloody Shirley". A little girl who has a fickle personality akin to a cat and quite frequently surprises the people around her with her crazy actions.
4) Crossbell Police Academy: School for police officers located in the Knox Woodlands area, southwest of Crossbell State. Lloyd also learned and graduated here. Inside its premises, there is also a practice ground for the Guardian Force, as well as a prison.
5) Sigmund Orlando: Shirley's father, Randy's uncle, and vice-head of Red Constellation. He has the nickname of "Crimson War Demon" (Ogre Rosso) and is feared as the strongest fighter wielding two war axes. Not only does he possess overwhelming fighting ability, he is also a deep thinker. He respects all worthy opponents, even if it's an enemy.
6) Knox Woodland Road: A paved woodland path which connects the police academy front gate to its facilities. Since there is a route down to the Knox Woodlands here, the Guardian Force also uses this road.
7) XD-78: Orbal car developed by the ZCF (Zeiss Central Factory) which is famous for being the world's top airship maker. It can reach speeds of more than 1500 selges per hour. Although tractor-type transport vehicles have been made previously, the factory has started to experiment with manufacturing automobile models since XD-70.  In addition, the D in the model number XD stands for "Drive".
8) Guardian Force Survival Training: Outdoor training inside the Knox Woodlands for rehabilitation of the Guardian Force soldiers suffering from Gnosis side effects. Consists of five days of harsh survival training, resulting in the screams of its participants coming from below the cliff. Looking at Mireille scolding her soldiers, Randy names her the "Demonic Superior".
9) Mireille's Invitation: Although she invited Randy due to high opinion of his abilities, anyone could see that personal affection was part of the reason. Getting rejected by Randy caused Mireille to direct all her unhappiness towards her team members. In addition, Mireille will be promoted to second lieutenant after this for her achievements up till now.
10) Garage: A parking space near the back exit of the Special Support Section building that Sergei had made. This is part of Sergei's surprise since it was constructed in secret.
11) Zeit's Growl: Zeit growled because he sensed the presence of Ries. Since Zeit's true identity is a Divine Beast, he is able to recognize members of the Grals Ritter. It appears that the growl also holds the meaning of "Hm...so you've come."
12) Elie and Ries' First Meeting: The two first met 2 years ago when Elie studied shortly abroad in the Holy Nation of Alteria. At that time, Ries was studying under grandmaster Selnate as a Grals Ritter apprentice. Since Selnate was serving as the guide for the Crossbell mayor's granddaughter, the two got to know each other in the process. Incidentally, although the existence of the Grals Ritter is not made public, Elie knows at least of its name since she's the granddaughter of an influential figure.
13) Long Distance Connection Experiment: During an orbal network experiment after the abandonment of wired connections, approximately 10 wireless signal booster stations were set up between Leman State and Crossbell State. Demonstration experiments are currently being conducted between Epstein Foundation and IBC. Under Tio's insistence, she used one of the lines undergoing experiment to get in contact with the Special Support Section. In addition, Jona collapsed from fatigue after pulling several all-nighters and wasn't able to appear in the video call.
14) Ashley's Inkling: Ashley's relationship with Sigmund is not a particularly close one, however they have dealt business with each other on several occasions. Due to her moral code as a merchant/broker, Ashley did not divulge much information to Lloyd about her customer. As an aside, Red Constellation does have its own private distribution channel, with the Berserker and Testarossa both acquired from there.
15) Wazy's Hidden Power: The power Wazy used here is from his Stigma. The release of the Stigma causes his physical abilities to increase exponentially, and therefore he views it as "foul play". With the power born out of the Stigma, Wazy easily defeats Wald in their duel.
16) Marcel Nielsen: A famous journalist of Crossbell State who received the Pulitzer Award about 10 years ago. He lost his eyesight during the time he covered wartime stories which earned him the award.
17) Cult Incident Interview: Under request by Nielsen who is seeking the truth behind the Cult incident, Lloyd and the others provide assistance in the form of an interview. During the interview, they tell Nielsen that the arrest operation was a joint effort between various countries' military, police organizations, and the Bracer Guild. They also reveal that Joachim is one of the Cult's high ranking priests and that the Cult's origin can be traced back to more than 500 years ago.
18) F. Novartis: One of the highest ranking members of Ouroboros, the Sixth Pillar of the apostles of the snake. He is also the leader of the Thirteen Factories network and has created numerous giant humanoid weapons and unconventional warships. If it is to satisfy his intellectual curiosities, he does not care for the sacrifices. His teacher, Jorg, is disgusted by this personality of his.
19) Campanella: Ouroboros Enforcer No. 0, nickname <The Fool>. Although he is charged with the responsibility of overseeing the "Phantom Flame Project" in Crossbell, he meddles with Lloyd's group due to his prank-loving nature.
20) Old Mine and Mysterious Light Phenomenon: An old mine closed down several decades ago and currently not undergoing any mining activity.  The reason its insides are glowing is due to the growth of light-emitting Zemuria moss and firefly mushrooms. However, due to disturbance in the Septian vein, they now emit a purplish red color, different from normal.
21) Explosive Trap at Mine Entrance: The person who alerted everyone was Noel, but Wazy and Elie also noticed the sizzling sound of the fuse. From the available information and the condition of the blast, Lloyd concluded that it was a trap made of explosives. After joining up with Randy later on, from his words, the group were able to narrow down the culprit.
22) Enormous Monster: A Phantom Beast that appears due to the effects of the three higher elements and Pleroma flowers. It is an existence which far surpasses normal beasts. Since it originally exists on a higher spiritual plane, it disappears without a trace the moment its activity ceases. In addition, the one that Lloyd's group encounters in the Mainz old mines is called the "Faery Drake".
23) Reunion between Randy and Zeit: Randy returns to the Special Support Section after finishing the Guardian Force's rehabilitation training program. Learning of the commotion, Randy arrives in Mainz village and enters the old mines through the collapsed entrance that the miners successfully opened. As for Zeit, he joined up with Randy inside the old mines and guided Randy to Lloyd's group.
24) Culprit Behind the Trap: Although at this point in time the culprit can not be pinpointed, it is revealed later on that it is the Red Constellation. In order to test the capabilities of the Special Support Section in which Randy is in, they deliberately laid down traps for the group.
25) Crimson & Co.: An Erebonian corporation that operates the high-end club Neue-Blanc. It is in fact a dummy corporation for the Red Constellation to raise funds.
26) Red Constellation: A famous Jaeger group that operates in West Zemuria. Balder Orlando, also known as "War God", is its leader, and his younger brother Sigmund is the second in command. Randy, alias the "Crimson Reaper", used to belong to the group but ran away sparked by a certain mission. Furthermore, there are more than 1000 members under its umbrella, but only around 300 are combatants. Among them, around 100 of the more elite fighters have come to Crossbell City.
27) Novartis' Reason for Coming to the Mines: His goal was to inspect the Pleroma Flowers which were beginning to bloom in the depths of the mines and observe its effects. Furthermore, the Pleroma flowers will become an obtainable item inside the mines further along in the story.
28) Seventh Pillar:  This position is given to the apostles of the snake, and refers to one of the highest ranking members within Ouroboros. The "Seventh Pillar" code name refers to Arianrhod.
29) Astral Code:  A technology which apparently has some sort of connection to the "Celestial Globe", the place where Ouroboros members meet with the Grandmaster. However, the details are unknown. Campanella installs this into the terminal when he hacked into the orbal network.
30) Phantom Flame Project: The second phase to Project Orpheus, which Ouroboros has been proceeding along in secret. It serves as the turning point of Project Orpheus and is separated into two parts, "Phantom" and "Flame". "The birth of a new Treasure by man's hands" and the "independence of Crossbell State" are part of the "Phantom" half. In places other than Crossbell, Ouroboros is also actively pushing along the Project in secret.
31) Balder Orlando: Leader of the Red Constellation with the alias of "War God" and Randy's father. Although smaller in stature compared to Sigmund and Randy, he had a body of steel. Possessing a calm but commanding presence from having honed his own powers to the extreme, even Sigmund obeys his words willingly.
32) Jaeger King: Leader of the West Wind Brigade. In a duel with "War God", he departed from this world along with his opponent.
33) West Wind Brigade: A Jaeger group of West Zemuria on par with the Red Constellation. Garcia Rossi was a squad leader for the brigade before changing to Revache & Co.
